Happy women's day

I will not celebrate Women's day until...

1. 50% of railway compartments are reserved for women.
2. At least 90% of husbands agree to vasectomy.
3. Sex ratio of India is at least 1000.
4. There are no battered wives.
5. Women can marry when they want to and whom they want to.
6. People are not surprised to see female bus drivers.
7. Women don't cook all the three meals of the day.
8. People don't get up to give seats to women out of pity.
9. Women don't die of anaemia.
10. Female sportswomen are paid equal to male sportsmen.
11. There is a seperate supplement in the newspaper on Women's World Cup.
12. Daughters are allowed to burn pyres.
13. People forget what dowry is.
14. Female foeticide is wiped out.

I will not celebrate Women's day until... there is no need to celebrate a women's day......

It's really sad but true that women r given such a raw deal in reality.Yet we try to gloss over everything on March 8 just because it's int'l womens' day...all those articles about the spirit of womanhood yesterday really made me gag..UGHH

alrite, most of them look straight out of a Nari-mukti-sanghatna's free for all pamphlet, but for pete's sake why vasectomy & why 90%? If Sambhavi, Ananya &
Ashwin(i) can't stand up for their rights(not bearing ten children in a row, in this case), then who can (ok, this is too much), but more seriously haven't u heard of other forms of contraception(viz. the feminine one's )? Think of men's rights too.

& Secondly girls, for pete's sake again, why didnt u ask for 50% reservation in the entrance exams too(and if that goes through, we will pitch for cheaper sex change operations too. ;D)

(there are quite a few poems on the page. could u pls make them more readable. that could hold true for the prose too, most of the sentences are amazingly twisty. where's the simplicity? )
